TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS
There are a few ways for you or a sponsor (parent, grandparent, etc.) of you to make your expenses tax deductible. The first way would be to ask your local congregation if they would be willing to take a special offering designated for your trip expenses. The second would be to use a Designated Fund Account through the Christian Dental Society. You would first need to become a member of CDS. Membership is FREE for students who have participated or are in the process of planning a dental mission trip with a CDS dentist. Click here for more info -> CDS Membership Then contact Mrs. Tina Wendel, the administrator at CDS, and she will explain the next steps to setting up and utilizing a CDS Designated Fund Account. This account is different than the Guatemalan Smiles account mentioned below.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation toward the general fund of our trip, please visit the Christian Dental Society website using the link below and contact them directly. Mrs. Tina Wendel, the administrator at CDS, will walk you through the steps of donating to our fund called Guatemalan Smiles. Donations to the general fund are used to purchase necessary dental supplies such as instruments, bonding materials, anesthetic, disposables as well as cover the costs associated with maintaining our dental equipment.
