Never out front but always a step just behind the leaders doing what is needed at every twist and turn. Always joyful, congenial, laughing, smiling, engaging with the whole team, his effervescent personality makes him a huge positive influence on every trip! His commitment to the Lord is undercurrent in every way and his love for people is reflected in the thoughtful responses of all mission patients and teammates . His parttime job as a Young Life Leader and other job as Business Manager for his dad's dental practice makes him highly qualified to be on the top leadership team for this annual mission outreach. It was started when he went on his first dental team mission trip at age 10 with the T. Bob Trip to Matamoros, Mexico. He truly has a BIG impact!

"T. Bob" Davis, DMD What is there to say about T. Bob? What isn't there to say is more like it! In recognition of more than four decades of service, which includes a continued commitment to Latin America and his community in Texas, the American Dental Association (ADA) selected Dr. T. Bob Davis as the 2018 ADA Humanitarian Award recipient. He also received the 2020 International College of Dentists (ICD) Humanitarian Award and most recently the Christian Medical & Dental Association's (CMDA) 2020 Servant of Christ Award. A Dallas, Tx general dentist, pianist and dedicated church volunteer, he has recorded over 13 albums of his piano music, all sacred, hymns and inspirational.
A past president of the Academy of Dentistry International, Dr. Davis has brought more than 1,500 dental students, over 500 dentists, and more than 500 hygenists/assistants/technicians to Mexico and Central America over the past 45 years on dental humanitarian missions. The new 21 opertory portable dental clinic in the San Raymundo Hospital is a product of those years. |
Bob Meyer, DMDColonel (Retired) Robert Meyer, DMD, MAGD, ABGD is a full-time dental volunteer after retiring from a general practice in Colorado Springs, CO. Colonel Meyer started a 30-year Army career at West point and commanded the only Air-borne Dental Unit in existence, deploying dentists around the world. Dr. Meyer and his wife Diane (Ed.D) have published three books on portable mission dentistry. They have traveled to over 35 countries on over 60 mission trips to provide dental care to the underserved in the developing world. His spontaneous enthusiasm for serving and sharing is contagious, motivating and always encouraging to patients, dental students and other professionals including Medical Doctors who he trains to do dentistry overseas where there is no dentist. His impact as a leader among dentist volunteers is symbolized by his volunteer position as Executive Director of the Christian Dental Society, a world impacting dental supply support group for missions.

Jody Yarbro, DDSDr. Yarbro , a retired general DDS, spent 42 years practicing dentistry in Valley Mills, Texas. He has been going on mission trips for over 40 years, in several countries, and has lost count of the number of trips he has served on. He now goes on 4-5 dental mission trips yearly, and especially enjoys mentoring dental students. He has served as president of Christian Dental Society for two terms, and now serves as the treasurer. He is married to Nancie, who has also served on many mission trips. His gentle spirit and kind ways endear him to both students and patients. His vast experiences in dental mission work make him a valued mentor to students and dentists!

Dylan Patrick, DDS. MSDr. Patrick is a pediatric dentist based in Tyler, TX. His professional career was forever changed when he went on this mission trip to Guatemala as a dental student and decided to become a pediatric dentist, in large part to the experience he had serving the children in Guatemala. Today, Dr. Patrick serves as a mentor while also providing more advanced services such as treatment under general anesthesia. His passion to help the most physically challenged children is contagious and his plans to increase that outreach are ongoing!

Joy GringJoy is a full time missionary in San Raymundo. She has two professions all at the same time-a highly trained medical surgical Nurse at the San Raymundo Hospital Clinic and Educator who started the school and is the director of a Guatemala Grade S chool with now over 250 children. A former nurse in Dallas with the skills of a Fortune 500 CEO, Joy is the lifeblood of our efforts in Guatemala, serving as a liaison between the medical/dental clinic and our doctors here in the States. Her down to earth assessments, practical approaches, wisdom born from the realities of everyday medical challenges in the mountains have made her a visionary and highly respected member of the local community!
